Formula doing my head in

I'm trying to remember a formula I did but for the life of me cannot remember it.

The data i'm trying to get is as follows:

say C5 has 50 and is a static total, i want D5 to be a total that if data( numbers) in E5 to Z5 deduct from C5 to give a live total, but also if the total in D5, say gets to 15, then I want the cell background change colour.

Any help?

=C5-SUM(E5:Z5)

Have a look at conditional formatting in Excel's Help for backgroud coloring.
