Hi All,

I have what i think is a simple problem but difficult to explain.

I have about 50 employees who work over various work areas of my store (SER,GM,APP,ADMIN,REPLEN). and they may work over 2 work areas
ie: APP & GM.

With each work area there are different training sessions that need to be completed.

What i want to do is list thier names and then next to thier names there work area/s, this will then populate under each training session who needs it and totals at the bottom.

I have been tryign to use a COUNTIF but when i start adding multiple conditions it goes from showing numbers to TRUE/FALSE.

Hello and welcome to MrExcel!

What if you listed the employees in column A and then in the next x columns you list the departments you have? In other words create a 2-D matrix of employees and departments. Then place an indicator of some sort (e.g. FTE%) within the matrix. If someone is 100% in an area, they get the value 100% in that relevant column, is someone works say 60/40 between two areas you enter 60% and 40% under the relevant column for that employee - repeat for all staff. If someone doesn't work in a particular area then there is no data entry for that particular cell within the matrix.

This is not only a data entry tool, but also a visual representation of where your staff work and provides the solution to your question at the same time. Possible?
