Formula in a query

Gosh I wish formula syntax in Access Queries was the same as excel. Life would be so much easier.

I've tried the help to no avail. The expression builder - well - 'nuff said.

This is what my formula would look like in excel:

=IF(MAX(P5:V5)>=30000000,"yes","no")

I would like to write a formula in an access query that does the same thing.

I just can't seem to crack the code. I tried nesting if statements. Didn't work. I tried an IIf, OR combination.....nope - did something wrong there too, but don't know what.

Can anyone help me? Please?

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
you need to use an iif & OR combination but you said you tried that already... care to post your non-working expression?

also it seems as if your data is not normalized, this may be the cause of some of your frustration.

Yup - Wouldn't you know it. I kept at the IIF statement and got it to work. Is there an icon for embarrassment?

Anyway - thanks so much for responding - got it to work - no more worries.
