Hi I own a jobs board, I can export job application data to excel I would like to be able to turn this data into a simple graph that shows the number of job applications we have each day. I can work it out manually but I need a formula that adds up the applications in given day.

The data currently displays like this

723 Lee 09/05/2011 09:24 1
722 Elisabetta Indirli 09/05/2011 11:37 2

So from this data I can see we had 10 job applications on 09/05/2011, 16 on 09/06/2011 and 4 on 09/07/2011 but how do I get excel to work that out and then put it in a graph?

Thanks in advance!

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Welcome to Mr Excel.

Create a pivot table with CreatedDate in the row area and Count of Id in the data area. Then right click the date field and group by days.
