Can excel determine the day of the week? For example, if cell a1 = 3/27/2009, Is there a formula i could put in b1 that would = Friday.

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
If you want it to appear in Cell A1 along with date , put in date and format as
Custom/[$-C09]dddd, mm/d/ yy

In B1 put =A1
and format B1 as Custom Format "dddd"
