Formula to update 1 sheet to another

I am looking for a formula that updates a master sheet and automatically will update another dependant on a single value. E.g. Name in master sheet updates a seperate sheet in the same work book called names. I have several names so again dependant on the particular name it will update the different sheets. I hope that makes sense.
