Trying to make this work. Trying to divide B6 cell into 2 then add B6

lets say B6 value is 50.78 trying to get 76.17

50.78 divided into 2 is 25.39 + 50.78 = to 76.17

=SUM(B6\B6)+(B6)

Thanks

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
=SUM(B6/2)+B6
The SUM function serves no purpose here.
You use SUM when you want to add up a range of cells. There is not reason to use it on a single cell or single calculation.

(I am guessing that you just copied/modified the original formula the OP posted).

Just wanted to point it out, as I see a lot of people using SUM unnecessarily or incorrectly. Not sure why that is...
