Hi,

I have this offset function working:
=OFFSET(calculos.xlsx!_5260;10;5)

The cell name "5260", is also entered as text in cell A1, in the current workbook (not calculos.xlsx). How do I refer excel to get the text from cell A1, instead of having to enter it manually.

Thanks,
Pedro

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Welcome the Board!

Try:
=OFFSET(INDIRECT("calculos.xlsx!_" & A1;10;5)

Worked! (You just missed the ")" after A1

=OFFSET(INDIRECT("calculos.xlsx!_" & A1);10;5)

Thanks.

Whoops! Sorry about the typo. Glad you figured it out.
You can use the INDIRECT function anytime you are calculating a range reference on the fly.
