Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
For what you want to do, you're going to want to set up a specific column so you can use it as it's own field.

Assuming all of your dates are in column A, you can use the following formula to find out what pair of months they're in:

=LOOKUP(MONTH(A1),{1,3,5,7,9,11},{"Set 1","Set 2","Set 3","Set 4","Set 5","Set 6"})

January/February would be named "Set 1"
March / April would be named "Set 2"
and so forth

Hope that helps.
