Hello, I need a lookup macro

Hello all

I was wondering if some one has a goof lokup macro ,


criteria, works like the lookup funtion but is not a formula in a cell. for some reason I can not use the lookup funtion.

here is a model of the macro in formula syntax =Lookup("cell A",search in colum "G", retern value in same row in colum "e")

work for you?

Have you tried using VLOOKUP?

It doesn't quite work in the way you describe. The syntax is:

VLOOKUP(lookup_value,table_array,col_index_num,range_lookup)

If you have a block of data the value that your looking up has to be in the first column of your data and you can then return the value in any column of the array by specifying the column index. 1 is the first column, 2 the second etc.

Probably haven't explained very well but the function wizard will take you through it quite well if you're having problems.
