I have data in Excel that row by row represents a delivery stop by one of our trucks. Each row has customer name, address, invoice number, and billing and shipping account numbers. I am trying to find a way to have Excel recognize duplicate addresses, count them, and total. I am a newbie. This total count would represent how many times we have have stopped at that customer. Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Can you sort left to right?
To sort left-to-right, use the Sort dialog box. Click Options. Choose "Sort left to right"
Welcome to the board..

That sounds like Countif...

Say column A is the list of all the addresses for each stop.

In B1 (or whatever column is available) put the formula

=COUNTIF(A:A,A1)
And fill that formula down to the end of the data.

You might also want to look at using a pivot table.:)
