high and low

can some1 help... i am running a dde link and data is comming in at one cell say a1 and more data at b1 i have excel taking the difference and printing it in cell c1 .. Is there a way to have excel record the highs and lows of each day from the C1 cell and possible alert me when a new high or low is made?? the alerts would be nice, but the high low is all i am really after.,. is there a internal function i can link to that cell that can do that 4 me? thanks in advance and keep in mind i am not too good with this program ...Rocky
