(hopefully) simple query

Hi all,

I maintain a spreadsheet showing all work we have quoted in our office, this contains the usual data - company name, account number and the date we quoted/date of inception.

Is it possible to get a message to pop up highlighting accounts we quoted, say, 11 months ago?

Sorry if this is very easy, my Excel and in particular VBA skills have really gone downhill in the last 12 months or so!

could you add a column to your data ?

assuming row 2 contains first record, Col a = name, b = a/c and c = date then in D2

=DATEDIF(C2,TODAY(),"m")

copy down for all records

then highlight A1:D1 and create a filter (Data/Filter/AutoFilter) then use filter in D to select appropriate records according which records you want to display (ie months old)

thanks lasw10, that is the way we do it at the moment but unfortunately I work with a lot of 'forgetful' people who don't bother looking so I am hoping to get a message to pop up when they open the sheet which they won't be able to ignore!
