The only XML formats supported in Excel 2011 are the Office Open XML (OOXML) file formats. If you want Microsoft to support additional formats in Excel for Mac, use Excel's Help menu and choose the Send Feedback option to display the suggestion form. Fill in the form and submit the form to get your suggestion to the Excel product team.
