Hi, I am looking to find a way to calculate a tie weighted return for my investor.
I want to calculate what his average rate of return will be, given that he will be lending me different amounts of money at different times, and I will be giving him all of his money back plus interest on date in the future.

Example:

September 1 2015, -- investor gives me $1,000,000
December 1 2015 , -- investor gives me $400,000
March 1 2016, -- investor gives me $200,000
June 1 2016, -- investor gives me $200,000

On August 1 2016 I give the investor back $2,600,000.

Given this data, how can i calculate what my investors annual rate of return is in excel?

Thank you

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Well, you could investigate the use of the Excel function XIRR.
