How to color code a cell based on a certain criteria?

example: I want a cell to be colored red if it is blank. How do I do this with a formula or macro in VBE??

try recording a macro where you use conditional formatting to change the cells you need to.

what if i want a cell to be red if its value is not equal to a specific formula?
example: if G2 does not equal H2+I2+J2 than G2 is colored red.
