I would like to have a script that takes the email address ex. "Fake_Name@example.com" & sets the attachment to "Fake_Name" then saves that file to a set folder. I am struggling with capturing the email address. Is this possible?

Public Sub saveAttachtoDisk(itm As Outlook.MailItem)

Dim objAtt As Outlook.Attachment
Dim saveFolder As String

saveFolder = "C:\"
For Each objAtt In itm.Attachments
objAtt.SaveAsFile saveFolder & "\" & objAtt.DisplayName
Set objAtt = Nothing
Next

End Sub

Excel Facts

Add Bullets to Range
Select range. Press Ctrl+1. On Number tab, choose Custom. Type Alt+7 then space then @ sign (using 7 on numeric keypad)
This will get the sender's email address and return the portion before the @ character.

Code:
[color=darkblue]Dim[/color] strSender [color=darkblue]As[/color] [color=darkblue]String[/color]

strSender = Split(itm.SenderEmailAddress, "@")(0)

Or, for the display name...

Code:
Dim strSender As String

strSender = itm.SenderName

@AlphFrog

Ah yes, very true. In that case, your method can be used here too, if the OP wants to use the sender's name.

Thanks!
