How to Get "Intelligent" Date Filter In Pivot Filter

Hello All,

This is my first post so I hope it's a good one. I am very impressed with the intelligent date functionality of Power Pivot. I cannot however, figure out how to do something seemingly simple.

When I add the date as a ROW and use Date Filters, I have all sort of options - Today, Yesterday, Last Month etc.

When I move the date to FILTERS, the only option I have is to select individual dates. I can't even use between! What i want is the ability to filter like above but without displaying the date in the actual pivot.

I know i can use the Timeline, which is also pretty cool, just not for this particular use case.

I bet the answer is obvious, but I can't seem to figure it out.

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
It's funny how you can use a tool every day and completely missing features :) I have literally *never* used the fancy date filteres built into pivot tables like "Last Month".

Typically, I think I end up writing an appropriate measure / calculated field like ... [Total Sales - PY] (for prior year) or [Total Sales - MTD] for month to date... and sometimes end up with custom calc columns in my calendar table for things like... "Are these dates in the last 3 months" to use in filters.
