How to include buckets in a graph that display corresponding numbers within the specific range

Hello,

I'm using excel 2013.

I have a table that is a log of a product that displays how many days until it failed, date it was shipped, the cause of the failure, etc. There is also a column that buckets the causes by a broader category. ex. cause "broken components" and "broken frame" fall under the broader category of "manufacturer fault" and "dropped device" would fall under "customer negligence".

Days to failure----- Cause ---------------------Month
1 --------------------defective components--- mar
10------------------ defective frame ---------- nov
46 ------------------Dropped Device ----------mar
75 ------------------ xxx -----------------------aug

I would like to make a histogram that displays from that table the number of failures between 1-15 days, 16-30, and so on. I also want to be able to make a multi level graph that displays for example the number of failures from 1-15 days from customer negligence and eventually have those numbers displayed by month. I'm not familiar with VBA yet so some solutions without it would be appreciated.

Desired Graphs

1.Display total number of failures in buckets by 15 days (x axis) and number of failures (y axis)
2. displays total number of failures from selected broader category also (ex. 1-15 days->Manufacturing Defect->Defective frame= x amount, defective components = amount) then another section on the same chart for 16-30 days.
3. Same as graph 2 but displays which month it is displaying

All help is appreciated, thanks.

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
