I want to sum alternative columns in excel.

For example

sum (A3,C3,E3,G3, and So on)

Is there any quick way to do this. Because i want to sum the alternative columns. Please Help!

Try...

=SUMPRODUCT(--(MOD(COLUMN(A3:Z3)-COLUMN(A3),2)=0),A3:Z3)

You don't happen to have some common text as headers on the alternate columns do you? If so you could use SUMIF, like this:

Excel Workbook
	A	B	C	D	E	F	G	H	I	J
1	Budget	Actual	Budget	Actual	Budget	Actual	Budget	Actual	Budget	Actual
2
3	1	5	3	4	2	3	3	4	4	1
4
5
6	Budget	Actual
7	13	17

Sum Alternate
