Hyperlinks- not working

I have been creating a record of Invoices recieved from Suppliers into a spreadsheet and i tried inserting a hyperlink to link it up to the actual invoice which is saved on folder on my computer, it created the link however and error came up saying ' cannot open specified' .
The invoice is saved as a pdf in the folder and it should open up but its not , could someone help me to get it working
