hyperlinks

I know how to insert a hyperlink into a cell but the hyperlink is located on a different program and has to be dragged and dropped into the excel worksheet cell as an attachment. I have then been required to make this drop-and-drag action insert the description and price located within the hyperlink file into the correct cells. Is this possible?
