I need formula to provide total of positions from column C based on drop down menu of column b. Totals to be filled in the
highlighted yellow area.

See attached. Appreciate any help.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
what version of excel are you using? And if you can post your data using the xl2bb add in or post as a table (copy and paste into the message thread) it would be helpful.
Is there a break row between your data and your report area?
Using more ubiquitous excel formulas you can drag this formula down. Assuming the columns above are columns A, B, and C, and Barbers Count is Row 25.
Put this in cell B25 and drag down.
Excel Formula:
=SUMIFS($C$2:$C$23,$B$2:$B$23,$A25)
