This formula works but only up to 10 bits:

=DEC2HEX(HEX2DEC($A$1)+ROW()-1,10)

If I add two bits and change the length to "12" it doesn't work.

Help!!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
Hi

What do you mean by a 12 bit hexadecimal number? Can you post examples with the problem you have?

A 12 bit hexadecimal number has only 3 digits (it could have 4 if it were decimal) and so I don't see the problem.

It would also help if you'd explain the context. What do you need this for?
