IF(AND( Array formula

I am using the following array formula which tells me the first row on which there is a difference between two columns of data in columns A and C.

=MIN(IF(A1:A3000<>C1:C3000,ROW(A1:A3000),3001))

If it identifies, say row 12 then I wish to mark row 12 in column B with an 'x' and have the formula identify the next row where A and C differ. I've tried the following, but it always returns 3001

=MIN(IF(AND(A1:A3000<>C1:C3000,B1:B3000<>"x"),ROW(A1:A3000),3001))

I'm sure I'm doing something really stupid, but I can't see what it is.

Any help gratefully received

You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK

Hi Aladin,

Thanks for your comment. I have the formula in the top window and can quickly 'Goto' the row that is picked as different. When I've done this, I want to mark the row with an "x" and have the formula tell me the next row that is different. It seemed like an easy thing, but perhaps it is not so easy.
