Basically I want this formula to say that if Q422 =Fixed Term or Agency Staff then to use P422 – I tried to put in the OR and it didn’t work – any ideas?

=IF('Sheet 1'!Q422="Fixed Term",'Sheet 1'!P422,"")
Cheers

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Try this

=IF(OR('Sheet 1'!Q422="Fixed Term", 'Sheet 1'!Q422="Agency Staff),'Sheet 1'!P422,"")
