i need a formula for if the first 3 letters in e4300 = all then cut off those letters and write the remaining word. for example, if e4300 = allgemein then f4300 would return gemein.

i would think this below would do it.

=if(left(e4300,3)="all",(e4300,len(e4300)-3),"#")

i'm leaving right now so i'll check it when i come back

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.

Try

=IF(LEFT(E4300,3)="all",RIGHT(E4300,LEN(E4300)-3),"#")

close - but you need one more right in it:

=IF(LEFT(E4300,3)="all",RIGHT(E4300,LEN(E4300)-3),"#")

In F4300,

=if(left(e4300,3)="all",right(e4300,len(e4300)-3),"#")
