I want to reference one spreadsheet's data on another sheet. In the first sheet containing all the data, I have months in ROW 1 January-December. In rows 4-8, I have values according to different variables. It looks somewhat like this:
MonthJanJanMarMarMarAprMay
Date1/71/283/53/63/154/15/19
NameMarkBenJerryLukeMaryJudyLauren
Bag Sale11
Hat Sale11
Shoe Sale1
Glove Sale1
Shirt Sale1

<tbody>
</tbody>

On another sheet, I would like the total SUM by month. So Jan=2, Feb=0, Mar=3 etc. I have tried using SUM IF =SUMIF($A$1:$H$1,"Jan",$B$4:$H$8),SUMIF($A$1:$H$1,"Feb",$B$4:$H$8) etc but that is not working. I tried HLOOKUP since there are multiple instances of a single month, but no luck.

Can someone help me?
