I'm entering barcodes on to the spreadsheet but because it is more than 12 digits long it is converting the barcode into a scientific notation. i have tried changing the format to number then removing the decimal places to 0 but it is not working ?

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Have you tried to enter a number after you have formatted the range to number?

I already have hundreds of barcodes inputted onto the spreadsheet and didn't realise until i had finished scanning the barcodes that excel was changing them to a scientific notation.

Are they currently stored as text or are they all truncated numbers?
