I import a daily transactions file into excel that contains much more information than I need! Can I selectively import that file into a new excel "template" that holds only the information that I really want to see? I know my way around an excel spreadsheet but know very little about how to manipulate this kind of a transaction! Help?

Does the VLOOKUP table have to be sorted?
No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
what is the nature of your data file

what is the source
is it comma or tab delimited
how many fields
how many records

what fields do you wish to extract, and are they easily selected, as this can be done with SQL select from the file using VBA when we know enough information as we need to set up a small file to describe the contents of the big file to drive the rest of the ADODB connection
