I have a graph where I am plotting two curves on an x-y scatter plot. I have 20 different graphs each with 2 lines. I need a way to get the area under the curves so I can have a numerical value to compare which curve is "smaller" or encompasses less area (and thus is the better of the two measurements). Since I have 20 different plots I can't show them visually but need to use a table of numerical results.
What I've done before and am starting to do now is to print them out each plot on a full page (x2) and cut out the curves on the lines with scissors and then weigh them and express the weights as a ratio to a graph of the minimum or maximum possibles. I'm sure there must be a way to integrate the area under the curve mathematically in Excel instead of this though.
Thanks, Maureen
