Is there a way to change 126½

Is there a way to change 126½ which is text to 126.5 as a number?

GTO, Thanks that did work also for the one spread sheet but the one with the 11½ with the space at the end won't work. Any ideas?


I re-ran with the following (had tossed in the LTrim) and with spaces in front of and behind the fraction, it worked for me. Academic at this point per the excellent formula. Just in case you find any more weirdness in the pasted cells, you could try this. select the cell in question, and run:


Sub temp()
Dim i As Integer
Dim strMsg As String
For i = 1 To Len(ActiveCell.Value)
strMsg = strMsg & vbCrLf & Asc(ActiveCell.Characters(i, 1).Text)

Next

MsgBox strMsg

End Sub


This should return the character code for ea character in the cell.
