Hi there,

I am given a ready-made pivot table having a field with incorrect information so I want to make correction on the source data

(i.e in the below example Banana should be categorized as 'Fruit' instead of 'Vegetable')

However, I cannot find any column in the source data representing the 'Category'.

I have checked to make sure no column is hidden and even checked on the Named Ranges, but found nothing. It is as if the categorization is browsed from out-of-nowhere~~~

Do you have any idea on how I can locate it?

Thanks a lot.

No the table is being pulled from a separate workbook.

Sorry, I forgot to rename the link. I moved two sheets from the original file to a new file for uploading to Dropbox. One is the data source, named 'raw' and the other is the pivot table, named 'Sum1'). So just ignore the fact that it is pulled from a seperate workbook. If you replace all [E:\6. Statistics\Y2019\[YTD Vietnam Oils & Fat statistic 2019.xlsb] with blank, then it will link to the data source in the same workbook.

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
I thought that you were trying to find where column C is pulling from so that you can amend/correct it?

Just that I don't know where the data source of 'Group2' is for correction.
Going back to post #5... judging by the fact that the header is called "Group2" I would think that the data is grouped (and seems to be in your sample).

See the below about grouping fields....
