Hi all

This is probably one of those questions where there is a simple solution but for what ever reason I am unable to find it.

If I have a #NA value over two cells and wanted to return the value so for the below I would use the formula =IF(ISNA(A1),B1,A1).

My question is, is there a way or a simpler way of bringing back a value over multiple cells rather than using a combination of IF Formulas?

Many thanks all!

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
What version of Excel are you using?

I suggest that you update your Account details (or click your user name at the top right of the forum) so helpers always know what Excel version(s) & platform(s) you are using as the best solution often varies by version. (Don’t forget to scroll down & ‘Save’)

Also if you have 2 or more numbers on a row, which one should be returned?

Hi thank you for the response

Apologies for the lack of information I shall update shortly though the version of excel I am using is 2016 (PC)

There would only be one value (number) in the row.

Thanks for that.
How about
Excel Formula:
=MAX(IFERROR(A2:B2,0))

Thanks for that.
How about
Excel Formula:
=MAX(IFERROR(A2:B2,0))

Appreciate your help so far

That doesn't seem to work for me? Would I be correct in assuming the formula you provided is over 2 rows and not 3.

It was a typo & should be A2:C2, however the fact that it's returning 0 suggests the value in A2 is text

Put this into a blank cell what does it return
Excel Formula:
=ISNUMBER(A2)
