It won't let me change the value to a dollar sign!

I downloaded this sheet from the county public records. Usually, I'd select the column and hit the dollar sign and viola! everything has a dollar sign and in the correct format. Can't do it with this sheet.. it doesn't do a thing when i click on the dollar sign...

help pls?

No just click Finish or if you want click next twice then Finish.

In your case, you don't seem to need to change formatting, but actually separate data. For that you need to choose your delimiter option, then click Next to proceed through the steps. The method I pointed out earlier is simply to force Excel to accept formatting changes on a column of numbers.
