kicking people out of write access in spreadsheets

Afternoon all,

I have a file on a network drive that is accessible by a number of users.

However, at a certain time of the day (say 8am) I want to be able to go into the file and get the latest info out.

However, if someone is in the file at the same time my version is read-only. This causes a problem because I want to clear the file out and save it on top for the next day.

Is there any way to open the file - check if it is readonly - and if it is, then kick the other person out, and make my version read/write?

Thanks
Stuart

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
sorry i dont have the answer but i would like to know if there is a way as well, or at least a way to send a message to whoever has the file open asking them to log out.
