large excel file unable to open

hi

i have an large excel file, when ever i try to open the file i takes nearly 25-30 minutes during which my system gets completly hanged, is there any way to open such files faster like spliting the excel etc, kindly help

Hi,

Slightly different method of doing it, but if your Spreadsheet is just on one tab, why not move the data into an Access database? Access can handle larger record sets far easier (there's a 65K limit on cells in excel).

You can then use MS Query to display just the information you need in an Excel format.
