We have an excel gremlin we call them and we wanted to see in you have any thoughts on the issue. The issue is we have a source file (File A) and we have File B that is linked to File A. We have a backup of file of File B (Call it File C also linked to File A) We keep file C around in case we mess up something in File B and need to go back to an earlier version. We do not automatically update links as File A may have had updates and we want File C to show the information as of a certain date and compare that to file B. The issue is when I open File B and then File C at the same time File B information reverts back to the old data located in File C and no longer reflects the latest updated information in File A, even though we know enough to not update our links. File B and File C are not linked to each other. File A is not open. I must have done something to file C as when it is loading the information at the bottom references something like "Linking: share template barb.xlsm" I don't know where this reference came from, I know nothing about shared templates. How do I get rid of this reference to a template to see if that clears up the issue. This is happening in other backed up files not related to File A, B or C so I hope I have not inadvertently corrupted files....
