Locking Certain Cells

I am trying to lock/protect certain cells so that they can't accidentally be deleted or changed, yet still be able to edit the other cells. I don't want to use a password to unlock the sheet everyday, just if I need to adjust those protected cells. For example, I want B3:B34 to be locked but I still want to be able to edit C3:C34. Thanks!

By default, Excel locks all cells on a newly-created worksheet. You need to select all of the cells you want unlocked, then:Home>Format>Protection>Lock Cell (this deselects the Lock). Then password protect the sheet. You can do the latter w/o entering a password if you prefer, but then any user can unprotect the sheet.
