All,

I want to create a list from a list.

Basically I have a large resource model which has a list of individuals (running from A1:A250) currently on my programme. The problem is that these individuals may be within this model more than once as their time is split across deliverables. I ideally want to create a new list from the model which provides me with a list of all individuals on the programme but removes all duplicates.

Any ideas?

Chris

Excel Facts

Format cells as time
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+2 to format cells as time. (Shift 2 is the @ sign).
Quick and dirty, maybe not the best way - create a pivot table, use the individuals names as the row data field, and that will give you a list of unique entries.

Try the advanced filter

Highlight A1:A250
Click Data - Filter - Advanced Filter
Choose Copy to another location
Select B1 as the "copy to" location
Check - "Unique values"
Click OK

Hope that helps.

Is there any way I can do something so that if names get added or removed from the original list the other compressed list gets updated automatically?
