I am trying to create a simple macro that will copy specific fields from a detail page to a summary page. Each day on the detail page, we will add various revenues, & I want that to be copied to the summary page which will also included monthly totals. On the detail page, I have created a grid that allows for input of the current date, revenues & margins. At the bottom of the page, I have each column totaling the daily entries. Since the monthly totals are update each day, it is simple to have this total to transfer to the summary page, but not the daily. In lotus, I could write a macro that would go to the end of each column, then up to the latest entry & then copy that entry, but I can't get this to work in excel '97. Any help would be appreciated.

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.

Hi bnewt,

Welcome to the board. :)

I think the code you are looking for is this:

Range("A65536").End(xlUp)

This will start at the bottom of column A and work up until it finds the last used cell.

HTH - if you have any trouble with implementing your code just repost on this thread.

Richie,
I don't have any idea how to create the macro I want using the terminology you listed. Is there any place that I can learn these phrases???????

Thanks

Hi bnewt,

Post what you have so far and somebody will help you out.

Reading the posts on this board is a great way to learn (the best way, of course, is to practice - try using the macro recorder and look at the code it produces. Its not always the most efficient code but it should help with a lot of the terminology.)

HTH
