Hi,
I have a made a number of spreadsheets which have a sub-totals formula for corresponding cells. The formula for example "=IF(C3>0,C3-B3,-B3)".
If I insert the formula in D3 and drag it down to D50 (or any number) all the D cells show £0.00. Can I make an addition to the formula that will NOT show a value until cells C and B are given a value?

I hope I've explained it properly :)

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Further to this may I ask one other thing?

As I said I add the formula into the cell then drag it down to however many cells, but is there a way to make the formula continue throughout the whole column?

Thanks

Never a good idea to fill formulas to an entire column.

If you have data in the one of the columns on either side of the formula then if you double-click the bottom right hand corner of the formulas cell it will autofill until the adjacent column has a blank cell.
