have a situation I'm not sure if you can help. I'm trying to calculate total months past due and total due based on a monthly payment schedule. I'm a small business owner trying to save a few bucks rather than buying an expensive softwares I know access can do this for me. I need a formula based on a due date I enter for example: today is 10.09.2014. Customer due date is 5.09.2014. 5 months past due balance owed is $5 each month sototal of $25 due. Thanks inadvance uf you can help.

Only column i have is due date. Need a column to auto generate past or current, total amount owed, and total months behind.

Excel Facts

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.
Hi,

If due date in in A2, then:
Past or current (B2): =IF(A2>=NOW(),"Current","Past")
Months behind (C2): =IF(A2<NOW();DATEDIF(A2;NOW();"m");0)<now();datedif(a2;now();"m");0)<now();datedif(a2;now();"m");0)<now(),datedif(a2,now(),"m"),0) (see:="" <a="" href="http://www.cpearson.com/excel/datedif.aspx" target="_blank"> (see also: DATEDIF Worksheet Function)
Owed (D2): =C2*5
Does this work for you?

Paul</now();datedif(a2;now();"m");0)<now();datedif(a2;now();"m");0)<now(),datedif(a2,now(),"m"),0)>
