When I go to sort a column, I would like the rest of the row to remain intact with the sort. Is there some way to "lock" the row so a "column sort" will retain the data across the row?

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.

Try selecting the ~entire~ affected area, not just that column. Try this:

* Select entire area to be sorted
* Go to the 'Data' drop down menu
* Select 'Sort'
* Fill in the rest

As a tip, there is a selection button in this control that allows for you to use a header row (which will bring your header names into the drop-down menu).

See if this does what you're looking for.
