Need to get rid of ###

Hi all,,, I have a cell that contains this formula:
[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Tahoma,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]=COUNTIF(C39:AF39,"21")+AM38
Without the +AM38 I get a 0 but with the +AM38 I get ###.
Is there a way to get rid of the ### Please.

you could try =IFERROR(COUNTIF(C39:AF39,"21")+AM38,"")

this for me returns an empty cell if there are any errors.

Depending what is in AM38, have you tried making the column wider ???
