Hello Everyone! I'm having problems with using sum, sumif or sumproduct to add cells that aren't in a range (ie A1:a10), instead like this: a1, c3, d5, etc. This is because I think, the Null string & empty cells. Does anyone have any ideas??? Thanx 4 any help!!! God Bless!!!!:confused::confused:

You can use SUM like this:

=SUM(A1,C3,D5)

A SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT with random cells would be a problem, though. Can you be more specific as to what you want to do?

Thanx 4 your your reply! I'm having issues with that formula when one or more of the cells is either a null text string, or an enpty cell. I have been using something like this: =If(count(a1)=1,a1,0)+If(count(C3)=1,C3,0)+If(count(D5)=1,D5,0) so that when the cell doesn't have a numeric value; the formula will still give me the rite answer. Is there a better way to write a formula for this issue?

What issues are you having?

=SUM(A1,C3,D5)

Will do the same thing as: (as long as none of the cells contain errors)

=IF(COUNT(A1)=1,A1,0)+IF(COUNT(C3)=1,C3,0)+IF(COUNT(D5)=1,D5,0)
