I have a spreadsheet that I use to figure Girls Softball Batting Averages....trouble is...when I open the file to update the number of hits, the exsisting value is deleted and the new number goes in the cell. Instead, I would like for the number that I type to be automaticaly added to the exsisting number.
Would I have to created another row to type the values in or could I just click the exsisting cell ,put in my value and then let the macros do it for me ? and what would the formula be ?

As always Guys....Thanx for your Expert Help !!!

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

Could you show the formula that you are using?

Is there some reason that the new information cannot be in a new cell?

Hits game 1
Hits game 2
..............
Total

etc
etc
