Hi,

I am looking for a way to do the following automatically before my workbook closes:

-Turn alerts off
-Prompt for a password to protect the workbook
-Save the workbook
-Close the workbook
-Turn alerts on

I have tried a couple of different combinations and I cannot get it to work. It also seems that no matter what I do I cannot get the alerts to turn off. Can anyone shed any knowledge on the subject?

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
-Turn alerts off
Application.DisplayAlerts = False

-Prompt for a password to protect the workbook
use an inputbox to get a password. then set this as a password. This part u can record and modify later.

-Save the workbook
-Close the workbook

Thisworkbook.close(true)

-Turn alerts on
Application.DisplayAlerts = True
