When i calculate =(c6*e6)/100) = .001, is answer i don't want. C6 is number and E6 is percentage, are from another cell, different sheet.

If i calculate manually, and input numbers myself, the answer is correct

=(2.8*35.71)/100 result 0.99988 which is format i want not .001

Thank You
Rob

Hi,

If E6 is Already a Percentage (i.e. 35.71%), then you Don't need to divide by 100:

=C6*E6

You're right, E6 is already a percentage, I missed that. Would you know why when I calculate the above formula =C6*E6, the result is 1.00, but I don't want it rounded, need result 99.988, I have number format with 3 decimals, but always gives 1.00 result.

Thank you

That would mean either your C6 value of 2.8 is actually Greater than 2.8, And/Or your E6 value of 35.71% is actually Greater than 35.71% (i.e. 35.7149999%)

Excel is accurate to 15 digits, so you'll have to decide how you want to handle your accuracy, you can either ROUND C6 or E6 or Both:

I have a sheet called Value, which references this cell from another sheet =Data!C2 which is number 1.40(C6) and other cell E6, has =(1/C6) result 0.71. In cell F6 is =C6*E6 result 1.00, which is rounded, but 0.994 as answer I need, because in another cell, I have IF statement, IF(f6<1, do a calculation, F6>1, do a calculation), I tried the rounddown command, and other syntax, always get 1.00. Thank you

What you're describing, 1 IS the correct answer, NOT 0.994

The math you're doing is:

First you divided 1 by C6 --> 1/1.40 which equals --> .714285714
Then you multiply This result by 1.40 Again, which brings you Back to the Original Number of 1

F6=C6*E6
