PERSONAL.XLS locked for editing

I get this message everytime I open up a secind workbook within the same window, has anyone ever had this before ?

I don't know if this is the case with you but the only time I ever get that (and it's every time
as far as I can remember),
is when I'm opening a second instance of Excel.

it is but surely this shouldnt happen ?

You can open as many files from excel as you would like, but opening instances of excel can cause problems.

What I dont understand, is that this has never happened before and doesnt happen to any other user here?
